The Lego Ninjago Movie 2017, Based on a popular toy line and animated TV show, Lego Ninjago is the 3rd in the Lego series of interlocking films, each with its own style: The successful Lego Movie in 2014 was the “call to adventure” project, The Lego Batman Movie (out Friday) features action and superheroes, and Lego Ninjago is a mix of the martial-arts genre and Japanese kaiju movies with giant monsters and robots.
6 young ninjas Jay, Zane, Kai, Lloyd, Cole and Nya are tasked with defending their island home, called Ninjago. By night, they are skilled warriors, using their skills and an impressive fleet of vehicles to fight villains and monsters. By day, they're ordinary teens struggling against their greatest enemy: high school.
The Lego Ninjago Movie directed by Charlie Bean in his feature debut, follows Lloyd, a member of a group of young warriors and Lego master builders who, with their kung fu master Wu, must defend Ninjago City against the evil warlord Garmadon. Complicating matters is the fact that Garmadon happens to be Lloyd’s father. With mech fighting mech and father fighting son, the undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas will learn to check their egos and pull together to save the city.
